JB leaves the town he was born, Kickapoo and travels to Hollywood to form a great band. He meets a rocker named Kyle who trains him to become a rocker. Just before his final test he discovers that the rocker is a fake. The realise that they both have birthmarks which together spell “Tenacious D” They say that their band is destiny and they both plan to steal the mythical “Pick of Destiny” which the legend proclaims is part of the devils tooth. Whoever uses the pick becomes an instant rock god. A rock legend threw the pick into the audience on one occasion and was caught by an anonymous person called Eddie Van Halen. Tenacious D will do anything to get their hands on the Pick of Destiny which is in a rock Museum where they try to steal it.
