Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) is introduced at home near Privet Drive. He brushes off his cousin Dudley (Harry Melling) before engaging dementors in an unexpected attack. Harry is consequently given false notice that he has been expelled from Hogwarts due to inappropriate magic use. Harry is rescued from the Dursleys by the army of light, and, before attending school at Hogwarts, he gets to meet the Order of the Phoenix. The school year is fairly eventful with a new teacher and headmaster. Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) learn defense against the arts from Harry along with friends before a major showdown with Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) ensues at the end. The film ends on a sad note with Sirius Black dying, although Dumbledore is restored to the position of headmaster and absolved of all purported crimes.
